Privacy policy

Who we are

POSTT (Pty) Ltd (“POSTT”, “we”, “us”) is a strategic communications, creative and digital agency at 11 York Avenue, Craighall Park, Johannesburg, 2196, South Africa. We are the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy, which we process in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect

We only collect what we need:

• When you contact us through our Let’s talk form, by email or by phone: your name, email address, and, if you choose to give them, your phone number, company and details about your project.
• When you work with us: the contact, billing and project information needed to deliver and invoice our services.
• When you browse our site: technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and referring site, collected through server logs, security tools and analytics cookies.

We don’t knowingly collect special personal information or information about children.

How we use it

• To reply to your enquiry and discuss your project.
• To prepare estimates, deliver services, invoice and keep proper business records.
• To keep our website secure and working well, and to understand how visitors use it so we can improve it.
• To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We process your information because you’ve asked us to, because it’s necessary for a contract with you, because we have a legitimate interest in running and improving our business, or because the law requires it. We won’t send you marketing unless you’ve agreed to receive it, and you can opt out at any time.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. We keep ours to a minimum and never use them to sell or target advertising at you.

• Essential and security cookies: set by our hosting provider’s security tools to protect the site from automated abuse and keep it running. The site can’t work properly without them.
• Analytics cookies: our site uses Google Tag Manager, which may load tools such as Google Analytics. These tell us, in aggregate, how people find and use our pages, so we can improve them.
• Embedded content: pages with embedded content, such as videos, may let that provider set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.

Our contact form doesn’t use cookies to store your details; we receive your enquiry by email.

Managing cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on. The site will still work, although some features may behave differently.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal information. We only share it with trusted service providers who help us run our business, such as our website host, email and cloud software providers, analytics providers and our accountants, and only for that purpose. They are required to keep it confidential and secure. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Some of these providers, such as Google, may store information outside South Africa. When that happens, we rely on providers that offer protection comparable to POPIA.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including secure (HTTPS) connections, access controls and reputable service providers. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the Information Regulator if a breach affects you.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires (for example, financial records). Enquiries that don’t lead to a project are deleted when they are no longer needed.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us to:

• confirm whether we hold personal information about you, and give you access to it;
• correct or delete information that is inaccurate, out of date or no longer needed;
• stop processing your information, or object to direct marketing.
